That was an impactful scene in the 1968 movie as an unimaginable event in a country where recent immigration from Hitler's Europe was still young and the new citizens still learning their way in their new home while wondering where to find the streets that were said to be paved in gold.
If this scene were recreated in 2026, I would expect Lady Liberty's replacement to be represented by Mr. Trump's iconic likeness. In 24K gold. With both middle fingers extended.
